The rather modern Montparnasse Tower is located in the 15th arrondissement and is not often considered a priority on the itinerary of most visitors. However, the views from the 56th floor are truly spectacular. With the newly renovated roof terrace, the promise of romantic music every evening from April onwards and a champagne bar to open shortly, a visit to the 210m tall tower is becoming more of a must do.
What we particularly like about the Tour Montparnasse is the lack of queues. Most of the time you only wait a short time to get to the lift entrance and then within 38 seconds you are on the panoramic floor admiring the view. There is some excellent information about the sights in Paris and also a top class restaurant - Le Ciel de Paris (reservation only). The ticket prices to reach the top are 14 Euros for adults - 1 Euro cheaper than reaching the top of the Eiffel Tower by lift - but if you are from the UK there is a way to visit much cheaper. If you collect Tesco clubcard vouchers, just £3.50 in vouchers gives you an entrance ticket. What a bargain!
