A cheaper method of seeing the delights of Paris is to take one of the normal bus lines throughout the city. For the cost of a RATP ticket (only €1.38 if you buy a book of ten - a carnet), you can travel past some of the best sights that Paris has to offer. Accompanied with your favourite book guide, you can spend a pleasant couple of hours exploring by bus. Remember that a single ticket can be used on more than 1 bus line within 1 hour 30 mins, you just need to stamp again in the machine on the bus. You cannot however use the same line more than once.
Some of our favourite bus lines are :
- Route 30 : Gare du Nord - Sacre Coeur/Montmartre - Monceau Park - Arc de Triomphe - Trocadéro/Eiffel Tower
- Route 69 : Eiffel Tower - Dôme Church/Invalides - Louvre - Hôtel de Ville - St-Paul/Marais - Bastille
- Route 29 : Gare St Lazare - Opéra - Bourse - Pompidou Centre - Bastille
- Route 95 : Montparnasse - St Germain des Prés - Palais Royal - Opéra - Gare St Lazare
